What is Head Spa
Head Spa is a treatment for the scalp and hair that combines massage with water. You lie comfortably on a bed with a wash basin while soft streams of warm water flow onto your head from a water arch. Then we wash your hair, apply a mask and cover your head with a steam dome for a while.
Compared with a regular head massage, Head Spa adds water, washing, a mask and steam. Compared with a hair wash at the hairdresser, it adds a real massage. Here it is done by a massage therapist who works with tense muscles every day and knows how much pressure feels good.
What we use
-
A Head Spa basin with a water arch – the water flows straight onto your scalp -
A steamer with a dome – warm steam surrounds your hair while the mask works -
Professional Japanese Head Spa cosmetics: scalp scrub, shampoo and hair mask -
Essential oils – aromatherapy is part of every ritual
Head Spa: water, massage and hair care
How the Head Spa ritual works
Before we start, we ask if this is your first Head Spa, what you expect and what pressure you like. After that you just lie back and rest.
Scalp massage and scrub
We start with a calm scalp massage. If you like, we also do a scrub that prepares the scalp for washing.
Water arch and hair wash
Warm water flows from the arch onto your hair and scalp. This is where many guests start to drift off. Then we wash your hair with Japanese shampoo.
Mask, steam and a hand or foot massage
We apply a hair mask and cover your head with a steam dome. Meanwhile we massage your hands or feet – you choose which.
Cool rinse and drying
We rinse the mask off with cool water, finish with a short massage and dry your hair. In autumn and winter fully dry, in summer you can leave with slightly damp hair. No styling.
Essential oils scent the room throughout the ritual. The 90-minute option adds a neck, shoulder and face massage.
Who Head Spa is for
-
After a busy week, when your head is full of things and it is hard to calm down -
When you want to look after your hair and scalp and rest at the same time -
When you have seen Head Spa on Instagram or TikTok and want to know what it really feels like -
As a gift for someone who rarely has time for themselves -
As part of a spa day – Head Spa goes well with a body massage -
During pregnancy and for older guests – we recommend the 60-minute option, because lying in one position for 90 minutes can be tiring

Frequently asked questions
Head Spa Sopot – a ritual for your head and hair (60 min – 200 PLN, 90 min – 300 PLN)
We offer Head Spa at our massage studio in Sopot, Aleja Niepodległości 677A. People who search for “head spa Sopot”, “head massage with water” or “hair spa Tricity” usually want two things: to rest and to look after their hair. This ritual does both. We massage your scalp, rinse it with streams of warm water from a water arch, wash your hair with Japanese shampoo, apply a mask and wrap your head in steam.
The treatment is done by a massage therapist with a medical background who has been practising since 1999. For you this means the pressure is matched to your tension and to what you like. Before we start we talk briefly about what you expect, and during the ritual you can ask for a gentler or firmer touch at any time.
What Head Spa gives you
Guests most often tell us about a few things:
- the head gets a real rest – warm water, steam and a calm massage help you unwind, and some guests fall asleep,
- hair feels soft and smooth after the shampoo and mask from professional Japanese cosmetics,
- the neck and shoulders feel looser, especially after the 90-minute option, where we massage these areas too.
Head Spa is a care and relaxation treatment. It does not treat hair loss or scalp conditions. If you have such problems, talk to a doctor or trichologist first.
Head Spa 60 or 90 minutes?
The 60-minute option (200 PLN) is the full head ritual: scalp massage and scrub, water arch, wash, mask, steam, a hand or foot massage and drying. The 90-minute option (300 PLN) has all of that plus a neck, shoulder and face massage, and a face scrub on request. The longer option is usually chosen by people who feel neck tension after desk work. During pregnancy and for older guests we recommend 60 minutes, because lying in one position for an hour and a half can be tiring.
What to expect
You do not need to bring anything. Cosmetics, towels and a hairdryer are ready in the studio. In autumn and winter we dry your hair fully, in summer you can leave with slightly damp hair. We do not do styling, so if you are going out in the evening, plan time to style your hair. Coloured hair is fine. Please mention extensions, allergies or pregnancy when you book.
Head Spa, head massage or Kobido?
If you want a head massage without water and washing, see the Australian head massage + body massage. For your face, try Kobido or the longer Kobido Luxury. Head Spa goes well with a relaxing massage for a spa day. Other rituals are in SPA rituals, and all prices are in the price list.
Head Spa for guests from Gdańsk and Gdynia
The studio is on Aleja Niepodległości, the main road linking Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, so it is easy to reach from anywhere in the Tricity. We are open every day: Monday to Friday 8:00–21:00, weekends 9:00–21:00.
